Light for Japan
We were recently asked by Tony Zhu from Chinese label Handshake Records, to pen a tune for the LIGHT FOR JAPAN compilation album. Handshake Records approached bands from all over the world to come together and create an album to help raise awareness about the devastating events that occured in Japan. They are also the first indie label in China to put together a compilation album for this cause. Tony has become a very good friend of ours after showing us great support, loyalty and service whilst helping us tour China in May 2010. Once discussed as a band, we decided the song to record a stripped down, bare acoustic version of If I’m Not Famous. We chose to offer this tune based on how well the song was received in China. Seeing all our Chinese fans sing along to the lyrics proved how much it moves people, and therefore seemed perfect to use. The album is available to buy through iTunes and all proceeds go to the Japan Red Cross foundation in aid for Japan.
